Road Trip! Sausalito

We rented a car a took a trip to Sausalito for the day.

Our rental car
Liesl was really excited about this trip. Apparently, Sausalito is a quaint little town, with loads of interesting shops, cafes, wine tasting places and plenty of opportunities to buy wine from the Napa Valley.

However, upon arrival we were questioning whether or not we were in the right place, or if we were actually in the main town. After asking a couple of people, and the info centre, we were assured that we were indeed in the *ahem* bustling centre of Sausalito...

Whilst it is a very pretty town, unless you're interested in buying a boat or overpriced art, there's not much else to do here.

So, we had a little bite to eat, and left.

Here's some pics :-)

After our quick jaunt in Sausalito, we took a drive up to the Muir Woods (land of the Ewoks)

This is a national park and protects 559 acres or Redwoods.

It was a really beautiful trip into nature. If I considered myself an “outdoors” person, this would have been a truly amazing and enlightening experience.

The truth is, I heard that they filmed bits of “Return of the Jedi” in these woods, so I wanted to see them.

They are really pretty though.

The Rainbow tunnels leading out of San Francisco

Seriously, how cool are these tunnels?

Hmmm what does that remind you of?

Ta-da!!

So that's the end of our San Francisco trip. Los Angeles coming up next!
