Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous...

On our last day in LA, we decided to finally give in and take a tour of the Stars' homes. There are hundreds of tour operators all offering basically the same type of tour for the same price. Let me state beforehand, if you ever go to Hollywood, DO NOT take a tour with this company: RLATOURS

The tour they provided was totally sub-standard, and our "tour guide" wasn't even sure who some of the celebrities were/are e.g He wasn't sure what Elizabeth Taylor was famous for.... hello? Was he raised in a cave??? I took one of these tours in 2000, and it was far better and more emphasis on the homes than on the new condominiums downtown and how much they cost (frankly my dear, I couldn't give a fuck).

Anyway, we made the best of a bad situation... so here's some pics from the day.

Ben Stiller

Hollywood Bowl

$541? I guess $540 just doesn't cover it...

Check out the bats on Bela Lugosi's house

The Hollywood Church  - used to film "Sister Act"

The fire escape Julia Roberts runs down into Richard Gere's arms in "Pretty Woman"

The ex-Charlie Chaplin studios. Currently the Jim Henson studio
How cute! Kermit Chaplin

Samuel L Jackson

Famous Pinks - James Dean's favourite hot dog place

Robert De Niro's restaurant

The famous Ivy restaurant - alas no famous people...

The Ivy

Gas station which is used in quite a few movies
THE shop from "Pretty Woman" - You work on commission right? BIG mistake. Huge.

The Beverly Wilshire

Where Whitney tragically died

Also, where the Golden Globes are held every year

Bradley Cooper

Aaron Spelling house - recently sold for $50million!!

Entrance to the Playboy Bunnies' house

George Clooney

Michael Jackson

Also the house where he died

Small mural on the driveway
How can you tell you're in Beverly Hills? The road signs are all black and white AND the fire hydrants are all silver!(as opposed to the ugly mustard yellow in the rest of LA)

The Beckhams

I can't remember who this is... but it's pretty

Lucille Ball

One of the Marx Bros

So the house below is on Wilshire Blvd. We drove past it numerous times - mainly because it's probably the biggest house on the road (this picture doesn't do it's size justice). Anyway, we were fascinated by this house and always speculating as to who owns it. Well, we found out on our tour that it belongs to the one and only.... Oprah. Go figure! LOL

OprahWinfrey

George Harrison
The Pink Palace

The park with the infamous George Michael incident took place.

Ah, this little place belongs to Zac Efron
