It's, Liza with a Z!

Whilst in NY, Liesl and I headed up to Atlantic City – to meet Marielle and to go to the Liza Minnelli concert at the Borgata.

We rented our little car and went on  roadtrip!

On the road to Atlantic City, NJ

One of the highlights of the trip for me. I was so excited about seeing the Fabulous Miss M!!

This is the third time that I have seen Liza in concert – how lucky am I??

Each time I see her, I’m blown away by her talent and her ability to perform and hold a room. She owns that stage. Always. She’s funny, entertaining, endearing and just all round fabulous!

The main thing I love about Liza concerts, is her fans. They/we truly are the best fans. It’s true that Liza is “past it”, her voice is shot and she can barely walk. But no-one cares about any of that. They just want to see Liza. However which way they can. Everyone in the audience is always rooting for her, cheering her on and showing how much they just love and adore her. And she takes it all in and gives it right back to the audience. It’s such a great feeling to be a part of. Just pure unconditional love.

Someone once wrote, no matter how bad Liza is, she’s still better than anyone else, even on her worst day! It’s true. She knocks it out of the park every time.

Atlantic City Boardwalk

The next day we spent walking around Atlantic City. We went to a couple of Casinos - not to gamble just for a looksee. We went to the Outlet shops - my FAVOURITE kind of shopping! Then we took a walk on the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk.

It was lovely, just a pity the weather was so awful - cold, rainy and miserable. But we made the most of it, and had lots of laughs - and saltwater taffy!

Previous  to this, we had been to see Liza in Manchester, England.

This is where we met our fabulous friend and fellow Liza-Lover, Marielle.

Once again, Liza didn’t disappoint, and we were even lucky enough to see Liza arriving before the show – she also autographed a few things for us.

 Liza's at the Palace, NY. 2008

The first time I saw Liza was in her Tony-Award winning performance, “Liza’s at the Palace” in 2008.

This was a truly surreal experience. I was watching Liza, in a “comeback” performance; at The Palace in NY; where her mother had previously performed her “comeback” performance. Later in the show, Liza also sang a medley, which Judy had sang at her Palace engagement. I was in tears! It was so amazing. A historical moment in entertainment history.

Can't wait for the next Liza engagement!!
